Q2 2024 Theme Parks Apps Performance on Unified Platforms in the US

In the second quarter of 2024, theme park enthusiasts continued to engage with their favorite parks' apps, with varying degrees of activity across the board. Data from Sensor Tower offers a snapshot of how these apps have fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

My Disney Experience saw notable fluctuation in revenue, starting at $162K in the first week of April and peaking at $227K in the first week of June, with the lowest point at $19K mid-May. Downloads remained relatively steady, ranging from 133K to 207K, while weekly active users showed a growth trend, starting at 205K and culminating at 244K by the end of June.

Disneyland® Paris maintained a consistent revenue stream, hovering around the $10K to $13K mark throughout the quarter. Downloads varied, with a peak of 161K in the last week of June, a notable increase from the quarter's low of 55K in May. The app's weekly active users reflected a gradual increase from 497K to 457K over the quarter.

Universal Orlando Resort reported no revenue for the quarter, yet downloads saw a rise from 110K in early April to 143K by late June. Weekly active users also showed an upward trajectory, starting at 356K and reaching 343K by the quarter's end.

Universal Studios Japan, like its Orlando counterpart, did not generate revenue in this period. Downloads began at 107K but dipped to a low of 15K in early June before rebounding to 94K by the quarter's close. Weekly active users decreased initially from 203K to 59K, then nearly tripled to 194K by the end of June.

Beto Carrero World also reported no revenue, with downloads starting at 71K in April and experiencing a significant drop to 1K in late May, followed by a modest recovery to 22K by June's end. The app's active users showed a downward trend from 306K to 95K over the same period.
